German Benteler to build new parts factory in Chongqing

Shanghai, July 22 (Gasgoo.com) German auto parts maker Benteler signed a cooperation agreement on July 18 with Chongqing Skyman Automobile Body Manufacture Co., Ltd. on construction of an auto parts factory in China's southwestern Chongqing municipality, local media reported.

Under the agreement, Benteler will invest approximately $26.1 million in building the new facility which will make 300,000 sets of car chassis per year, with the annual output value to reach 500 million yuan. Moreover, Chongqing Skyman will provide its own factory buildings. In return, Benteler will provide an auto accessory products order worth 200 million yuan.

Skyman is a professional industrial group which specializes in producing instrument panel, stamping parts of chassis and seat frames. Since its establishment in 1992, it provides stable quality and low-cost products and services for Tier 1 suppliers, such as Suzuki, Ford, SAIC, Nissan, Chang'An, Jiangling, Visteon, Lear, Tower, Lomason, Brose and Tokyo TS.

Benteler Group is internationally active with its business divisions Automotive, Steel/Tube and Distribution. Since its foundation in 1876, four generations of the family have contributed to shaping the Group, which is still in family ownership today, and now one of the largest industrial enterprises in Germany.
